We have always created custom solutions and automations for customers with unique data management challenges. Increasingly, that has included using AI and ML powered tools efficiently on customer services projects. Customers often have unique data management issues in the maintenance and reliability realm that can’t be fixed by a one-size-fits-all solution. Customers may have custom tools and applications that they’ve grown to depend on but don’t work effectively with their EAM/CMMS or other asset management systems. Customers may have valuable information stored in Excel format or in unstructured documents. Valuable information may still only be available in paper format. Extracting, reformatting, converting and using engineering judgment to make decisions based on legacy asset and maintenance data can be performed much more efficiently with AI and ML powered solutions.
Turn-Key Projects
Our services team has always worked on projects where the deliverable was new or improved asset and maintenance master data to load into a customer’s EAM/CMMS or other asset management systems. Typically, this is delivered into our customers’ mass load templates and they are agnostic as to how we created or improved the data. Our internal services team has always used tools like NRX AssetHub and DataSeer on these projects. We’ve always used automations to make our projects more efficient and deliver a higher customer ROI. Increasingly, we are also using AI and ML powered solutions developed to address specific customer project challenges.

We take the same approach to AI powered solutions as we have traditionally taken with NRX AssetHub. We typically start with a turnkey project where the deliverable is new or improved data delivered in the format required by the customer. But as part of the services engagement, we develop a custom AI tool to help solve the problem. This makes the services engagement more productive and increases the customer ROI. But it also allows us to figure out how best to apply AI and ML to the problem based on our data science experience and deep domain expertise in asset and maintenance master data management. At the end of the project the goal is to have a tool that can be used by the customer themselves. This has the same advantages seen with NRX AssetHub.
